AAA is common in certain cities. Chicago I believe is the largest market to have a commercial AAA station.

In many cases it is a non commercial format. Has a lot of success on the non commercial side of things in Minneapolis with The Current. I believe Prince was a fan. They would sometimes play his new music when others would not.

But otherwise they are generally the first if any to play these kinds of new songs. The audience for these stations are generally passionate about music.
