I think the sad thing, possibly, is "radio people" think the radio listener has the newest, latest gadgets with the newest readouts, etc. (It might be generational.)

When WBBM (or anyone, for that matter) has to say "ask Alexa or Google play to say, play WBBM News Radio..." Who in the heck is going to remember all this, in addition to the "105-9" ments?

You know what you hear: "Is 105-9 FM or AM?"

TOO, It wouldn't kill WBBM to say the call letters a bit more!
"It's 6:12, the Accu-Weather forecast is coming up"
"Traffic & Weather is next. It's 6:25"
This continues the entire hour and it's BAD!

The old "WBBM News time 6:12" etc, worked for decades! KISS! Keep It Simple, Stupid!

In regular conversation with NON-RADIO listeners, they told me "with WBBM, you know what time it is."

You have a product that you really should be proud of! You have a HERITAGE brand! Wear it proud!

(Too, WSSP and WTMJ stuff was noticed, and the WSSP FB page exploded with the lack of any local content.)

MORE FREE ADVISE: On the recorded overnights, don't even say "it's 9 minutes after the hour" or the like. (Recorded 1:00-4:30am)
"Sports at :16 & :46" or "stocks at :23 & :53" should suffice.

MORE FREE ADVISE, PART TWO. 15 & 45 (for sports) & :25 & :55 is easier to remember. Go back to what worked so well!

WBBM has outlasted AM Stereo, AM HD radio, you name it, but the "WBBM" brand is strong. (Loved the old WMAQ (all news) liner, --- "in Chicago, NEWS is spelled W M A Q.) Same could be said for WBBM.

You can easily spell WBBM. You have to be TAUGHT to spell A-U-D-A-C-Y!
