WMAQFM Time was given almost every break on every station!
The word "Stereo" was enunciated. FM stereo vs AM.
Busboards were all over for WLAK-FM 94.
101 102 were also noticed a bit, as I remember.
WSDM - Was that Yvonne?? Smack Dab in the Middle!
Larry the Legend from WIND to WZUU-Milwaukee.
WIND #1 music the late Ron Britain -- still had it! Connie Szerszen at night, so it was WLS, WCFL and WIND on AM, playing music!
W-Gold!
Fire Radio RKO Oldies! To me, THIS was their best. RKO had the AM Top40's (+WOR/99X NYC) but the FMs were basically OLDies and they played good ones! "RKO Gold Mine" PAMS jingles.
Dale McCarren!!!!!! This man died too soon. What a crisp, no-nonsense, authorative voice!
WJJD AM! I remember the news jingle! Their charts were at Radio Doctors and Sears stores in Milwaukee!
WGRT.... 20/20 News! Maybe not at this time, but they used the old Pepper-Tanner "the Now Sound" jingles in 1967.-1968. I remember them well. One guy always into the news said "Boracho!" Clearly loved the radio!
WMAQ Joel Sebastian....... the way he was demoted at WLS and tossed onto overnights was a sin!
WDHF was so close to Top40, I believe.... Ron Dennington(Ronnie Knight) would PD (leaving WOKY, Milwaukee) then Gary Price (also WOKY) would watch the change from DHF to M E T!
WVON! 1450 sister to WNOV Milwaukee "the Soul 45" survey was the same for both cities. "L&P Broadcasting" NOT AT this time, but in 1968, when 860 WNOV, flipped from WFOX.
WEFM WNIB WFMT WGN
Norwood Savings -I'm sure was bought by someone when all the S&Ls Savings & Loans hiccups. Died 1990.
WCFL still Top40, Super CFL was to come with the TM shotgun!
As a kid, I'd go to Chicago, like a geek, and tape the FM stations AND the AM Black stations!
Loved 1470 WMPP ad 1570 WBEE. Both EXCELLENT stations! There was so much good!
Wish I still had those tapes!
Aside, I NEVER liked "Music Radio", but loved "the Rock of Chicago."
Loved "Super CFL" as it was later a Q Format clone of WOKY KCBQ WDRQ WMYQ KSLQ etc.
(Yes, I went to those cities (except San Diego) to tape them. Lotta memories!) Still lotta stuff on You Tube, too.
Thank you so much for posting this!
