I think the Orthodox people are pretty much resigned to the fact that their Christmas and Easter holidays are mostly an "afterthought" to the Western celebrations. However. This year many Ukrainian Orthodox at home and abroad celebrated on December 25 as an "in your face" gesture to the Russian Orthodox Church.
