I think we're all creatures of habit and thus, have a comfort zone. Both Willis Tower and 875 N. Michigan Ave have been known as Sears Tower and John Hancock Tower for so long, it's simply something we don't think too much about.

I would compare it to renaming a bridge. How many would call that bridge by its current name? I don't think too many people would.
