Eddie is doing what he likes to do and people are listening. The suburban stations tend to have that local feel and the listeners will often embrace people like Eddie talking directly to their community. These are the stations people are often listening to in the car in the suburban areas. WSSR’s sister, WZSR in Crystal Lake has been doing very well lately and listening to it, I understand why. It’s local radio. Eddie did a good job serving listeners in that area at WFXF.

As for Jobo, I don’t blame him for wanting to stay away from where they wanted to hire him and out of the nonsense corporate radio. I think Jan Jeffries was running WLS-FM at the time. I have never heard a single good thing about Jan. Fred Winston only lasted a week or less there if I remember right and Dick Biondi was forced into overnights under his watch. Nobody was ever allowed to say much on the air. Was quite bland at times.
