You are correct. B96 was owning the mixes weekend nights and then lunch, drive time and 10PM weekdays. They were a Dance/Top40 powerhouse at the time, taking on a bunch of the old 102.7 WBMX (original one) mixers and jocks. Also, 106.3, a weak Class A in Lansing was 106.3 Jamz, focusing on Rap/Hip Hop. It was wreaking havoc on WGCI for years, until WGCI's parent company bought them out and put them out of the format.
