Unlike other countries and parts of the world, one is deserved due process in the US. The accused defend from the accuser. If Hubbard fires him and there is something that pops up exonerating him, they are legally liable.
Reality is, if there is no exit ramp in his contract for Hubbard to activate, his contract will be bought out or somehow made null and void, before too long. The station nor the company can afford such negative publicity, regardless of innocence or guilt, for too long.
