You misunderstood me as the "new norm" is people have left radio and changed their listening patterns due to covid. Radio is very "mobile" driven. Many people that were in offices before, no longer are when their employers realize they do not need to rent expensive space and the workers use their bedroom or spare room as their workspace. This is the new norm and it has given all generations a chance to sample other mediums to consume entertainment, especially music. I have to find the article, the last poll determined 30% of people are no consuming music off an app. Not a surprise. As stated, not a surprise either that spoken word, especially commercial free is taking off on terrestrial radio?
The 25-54 is not a hard fast rule. Some stations only sell their upper end numbers. Some formats will be fairly even across the 25-54 range. A heritage CHR or one that leans Hot AC will take advantage of both end of the 25-54 range.
