WCHI seems to be focusing on the older half of that demo. 35-54. I can imagine people in their Mid-30s and 40s listening to 95.5. It is technically a Classic Rock station. Classic Rock has rarely evolved past the 80s. This is more in line with iHeart’s other rock stations except slightly different musically. The others wouldn’t touch Alanis, Matchbox 20 or Gin Blossoms. 95.9 The River however would.
WKLH in Milwaukee for example plays 1 90s cut an hour or so. Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Green Day, etc.
The Drive tried to put in 90s cuts (Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Collective Soul) a few years back. It backfired and they pulled them out and added more 60s and 70s.
