Just scrolling through the last 24 hours of their playlist: "Losing My Religion" and "The One I Love" by REM? "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind? "Summer of '69" by Ryan Adams? "No Rain" by Blind Melon?
Well, that's only five, so I suppose the station's not nearly as schizophrenic as it was when I sampled it during their first few weeks and it seemed like there were 1 or 2 of these per hour. Still, it's such a hodgepodge of music that seems destined to please none of the various "rock" constituencies. It's mostly classic rock, but also some token active rock acts like Avenged Sevenfold, some classic alternative, and the assorted classic hit head-scratchers that sound super out of place. Is there really that large of an audience that wants to hear both Ratt and REM on the same station? The 1.7 rating last month seems to indicate not so much.
Add me to the list of folks who don't understand why whoever's programming this tire fire doesn't pick a lane.
