My hypothesis is they don’t care and don’t need to care. Look at the birach.com web site, it literally looks like it was designed for NetScape 2.0. If you’ve ever watched American Pickers, you’ll occasionally see when they get to a place where there are decent antiques literally strewn about a field of high grass, buildings falling down, rare motorcycles and cars, vintage hard-to-find parts, etc. and it’s all literally rusting away because the owner just doesn’t care and doesn’t need to care. Everything is a sunk cost. If they sell an old piece, cool, if not whatever. If you think about it, much of terrestrial radio is a “modern day antique” already.
