With the exception of "us" here and those who listened to 95.5 for country music, there hasn't been a great deal of promotion. This station is still too new.
Recall the launch of WWBZ-FM 103.5 "The Blaze" way back in the day. If memory serves, didn't they play a loop of Def Leppard's "Rock Rock Till You Drop" for one or two days before that station launched?
The moniker and the song they chose clearly announced this was going to be a hard-rocking Chicago station.
In an earlier post, someone pointed out WRCX-FM "Rock 103-5" was all over the rock map when they launched. When they finally adjusted their music library, it was an Active Rock format.
In fact, didn't WRCX-FM do one of those A-Z music library launches which is something WDRV 97.1 tends to do with increasing frequency? It's been over 25 years and the mind gets a little foggy.
Bottom line, we have a number of radio pros on this board. Thank you for your experience and insight. Z and Jeremey are both frequent and on-target posters. Men, thank you for your service.
