And yes, advertising radio has hit rock bottom. I hear more PSAs for how to stay safe during the Coronavirus than anything. Some ads that seem barter (Insurance, etc) and a lot of direct response ads.
Over at Alpha Media, WXLC seems to have taken a bigger advertising hit than WIIL did. They let go of more people from WXLC and I'm noticing a lot of WIIL's usual advertisers are still on board. Car Dealers, Repair companies and plumbers are still operational. So I think some stations with certain types of advertisers are weathering the storm better than others.
In Milwaukee for example, WRNW (Sports) has a lot of repair and improvement advertisers as well as car dealerships who stayed on board. They went ahead and hired a new midday guy. He started today. His show's sponsor is a frozen pizza company.
