Noticed this Friday, and continued thru last night. NO traffic reports at night! Yikes! So..... I listened to (co-owned) WCBS 880 in NYC. No traffic there either! Co-owned 1060 KYW Philadelphia DID have traffic, entailing spin outs, accidents, lanes closed. There are people who drive at night.
I've listened to WCBS where it was "commuter reports all day long..."
Was surprised to hear on 880 WCBS. "46 past the hour" or "52 after the hour." Generic time. The next hour, it was "WCBS news time 10:12..."
Nice liner: "KYW. You've never needed us more!"
Sports on WCBS was read by the regular newscaster.
Sports "first at :12 and :42"
950 WWJ Detroit tags content with "live & local WWJ..."
There are still delivery trucks, people who must commute, people who work 2nd/3rd shifts. There is an audience.
Like the place I retired from 9+ years ago, 1ST shift thinks everything revolves around first shift! There are 24 hours in the day, whether the suits know it or not!
Chicago (& NYC) should have the product there. If the listener doesn't want it, they don't, but....
Meanwhile, for a good news station: http://player.660news.com/ (CFFR Calgary)
