I've already seen radio research done on individual DJ's names (Do you like the DJ's name? Would you listen to the DJ more if he had a different name? Get the idea?). It sometimes gets ridiculous. Everything these days is researched to death. Nielsen Audio (the firm that measures radio listening) PPM data provides minute by minute analysis, and you know programmers and radio owners can do a lot (good or bad) with that information. I believe the Chicago market began using PPM around 2007. 'XRT, and radio in general, IMO, was much better prior to PPM. I doubt it will ever get any better. We miss you Norm Winer.
