Final fade-out for CLTV leaves Chicago poorer

Honestly, this is what happens when you whittle down the investment and what they were all about at the beginning. They stripped down the money to cultivate compelling content and talent. A few headlines, sharing resources with WGN AM/TV and repeating on a loop is not success. Not putting it on a a phone app or a sub-carrier OTA didn't help either. (Every little way to put it in front of potential eyes would of helped). Paul Lisnek was the last bright spot on there.
Instead of trying to shore up CLTV and Tribune or another print offering, as they did in the past, they cave in. Enjoy the short term savings, as the viewers lose out!
At precisely 6 p.m. Tuesday — just six hours before a new year begins — CLTV will sign off the air forever.
Paul Lisnek’s “Politics Tonight” will be the last program viewers see before Nexstar Media Group pulls the plug on the 24-hour cable news channel. Lisnek, who taped the final show last week, said he closes with a farewell statement.
