Before that, they were like the cool aunt&uncle who actually liked to "sit at the kids' table at a family function and discuss movies, music, comics and other aspects of "pop culture" in a genuinely respectful and conversational manner. They listened as well as talked.
But afterwards, they somehow morphed into the obnoxious aunt&uncle who would harangue the young whippersnappers about not knowing anything about Good Music (mainly obscure R&R and R&B hits from decades ago) or Good Movies, etc., and kept lamenting about how life lost all its meaning the
