The Sunday Sinatra show is just odd. He’s been dead for 21 years, he has no real ties to Chicago outside of one song, and the audience for adult standards is mostly dead.
This is another head scratcher. Bob is 70. He should enjoy retirement. His idol David Letterman called it quits at 68. Bob made his name at WLS, a tenure that ended 40 years ago this month. This would be the equivalent of WGN calling on Eddie Hubbard to host PM drive in 1992.
There are people working in this market today who are under the age of 50 who can host a daytime show on WGN. I won’t name names but Bob Sirott is not the only name in town.
