The Future of AM Radio-Chicago Market

I believe the big stations will go on even though there seems to be a trend for move syndication. For instance WLS has only a few live local shows morning drive and 5-7pm. Same with WIND, morning drive and 5-7pm. WBBM, news alllll day long, and WGN is still all live local talents. I donít know bout 670 or AM1000.
Will these big station be able to maintain these small local profiles?
What are your thoughts about the smaller power stations like WAIT (now off the air) and WCPT who is mostly syndication programming now.
When AM radio went from music to all talk 30 years ago it was new life for them.
What will these stations evolve into now?
