I stated before and I was lit up that I was wrong by an anonymous poster, that Newsweb owned the land under the WAIT tower. Well they do. I also said WAIT is over. They are. WAIT will never be back unless someone strings up a horizontal wire like hams do to keep the frequency on air at a reduced range.
Not being able to pair them up their AM daytimers with FM translators is NEWSWEB's fault, 100%, lack of forward thinking and planning. EMF had no problem doing this. Moody too.
The AM daytimers they probably made their money back, on the ones they have owned for years. If not, tax write-offs.
Overall AM daytimers all over the country that can't be matched to a translator, or can't be moved to be matched to a translator will be goners sooner than later. It is no longer feasible to run stations like this standalone. Unless you are in some small area not served by high speed data or FM signals are not reliable or sustainable, the purpose of AM daytimers has come to an end.
