My "testing" of a station going back many years when I was a kid growing up was accidentally stumbling upon DX-ing back then, was if a station scanned and stopped on a car radio. I believe my first AM DX was 740 out of Toronto. I believe my first FM DX was 104.5 out of Eau Claire.
Sorry, diversion... back to topic... was traveling and visiting relatives recently in the Grafton, Cedarburg, and Germantown areas north of MKE. Did my "scan and stop test" on 780 during the day. Most times it did scan and stop. No opportunity to try at night. Sound seemed okay, but seemed more flat than previously.
Any Iowa, Indiana, or Michigan reports... day or night?
Would be interesting to hear compare/contrast reports of night time DX-ers of 670, 720, and 780 from way out.
