WABC’s billing supposedly was between 2 and 8 Million.
Billing was estimated at 8 million. The "Broadcast Cash Flow" was 2 Million. It means they were operating at a 75% overhead/expenses. Stations are usually worth around 6 times their Broadcast Cash Flow.
The new owner got a deal. Along with the Call letters, heritage etc... Lets hope he has a plan how to grow.
For Chicago billing, Miller Kaplan Arase threatened to sue Feder or anyone that released their research findings (read: the media corporations don't want you knowing how much in the hole radio really is) so we do not have accurate figures. The last known year was 2016 - 2017. WLS-AM billed 8.1 Mil. WLS-FM 6.8 Mil. WKQX 11.5 Mil. It is believed that revenue is flat since then. On a station level, WLS-AM ratings are slightly down/flat. WLS-FM is up (due to KHITS exiting) and WKQX is slightly down since these figures came out. We do not know the Broadcast Cash Flow for these stations.
