Rule #1: NEVER (repeat this a million times) send your listeners to the competition on terrestrial radio. Regardless they are non-comm. Every second you lose the listener, you lose revenue from your CLUSTER. Again as I preach all the time, Cumulus is at a disadvantage being 2 FM signals among 4 FM clusters in the same market.
Research has indicated most people listen to Sat radio for the talk content, music secondary. Sat radio is an addition to terrestrial listening. Also, iHeart has a stake in SiriusXM. So those commercials are totally the exception.
