I'm not going to post specific numbers here since I'm not allowed obviously. If you want to see them, you know where to look.
WKSC fell to the 2s for the first time in awhile.
Bunch of markets were released today.
St. Louis - KSLZ, Z107-7 fell 6 points. From the 4s to the 3s. Their direct competition is Entercom's KNOU (Now 963) dumped from a 3 to the Mid 2s.
Seattle - Hubbard's top rated CHR station there (Brooke & Jubal's home station) KQMV fell from the upper 6's to the Low 5s. Their direct competition, iHeart's KBKS (106.1 KISS FM) went up from the lower 2s to the upper 2s this book. They're recovering from a Halloween stunt and a staff change.
Exceptions:
Some markets with hardcore heritage CHRs many with no serious direct competition either musically or in regards to signal (WXKS in Boston, KDWB in Minneapolis, KHKS in Dallas, Z100 in New York, KIIS in Los Angeles) are doing quite well. They survived tough times the format had in the 90s, and they seem to be pulling thru today.
Tampa seems more unique. Two CHRs, none of them are on the ratings level WFLZ had in it's days as "Power 93" or even after. WFLZ still leads with reasonable numbers, WPOI trails, with still reasonable numbers.
Miami (A very Hispanic market) had two Mainstream CHR stations and one Rhythmic that can lean Mainstream at times. All 3 of them are virtually tied at around a 3.
Denver has had trouble supporting a Mainstream CHR for quite awhile. iHeart is doing things there with KPTT (95.7 The Party) which was once an CC "KISS" station before a few format flips in the 2000s. The ratings are not great, but better than CHR had been doing.
Milwaukee lost its 2nd Mainstream CHR (WRNW) to Sports Talk last month. This leaves WXSS (Which leans very rhythmic to protect WMYX) as the only full signal CHR. The only other left (WNRG, Energy 106.9) only covers small areas of the market and is basically Rhythmic CHR on and off, sometimes leaning Mainstream. Neither WRNW or WNRG have had the greatest numbers in recent months. WRNW's new format will not require ratings, based on how many Sports stations run with next to nothing in ratings.
Detroit lost it's second CHR (WDZH) to Soft AC in November. This triggered the iHeart "Breeze" launches across the country.
