Vladimir Putin has signed a decree declaring that the 1867 sale of Alaska to the US was illegal. Legal teams are preparing documents to show that large parts of Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, Poland, East Germany, and Alaska are still parts of Russia, and that this will justify future military intervention. There are billboards declaring "Alaska is Ours" along several Russian highways.
