I had to climb up on the roof a 1am, in the rain, to put a couple of tarps, and weights to hold them down in the wind, up there to stop the leaking, and it took me till 2:30am to finish, didn't get to bed till after 3am. Going up and down the ladder carrying heavy pieces of concrete really took in out of me, especially my knees.
And then the power went out around 4am, as a large branch in the neighbor's yard broke and fell on the power lines! Wasn't restored until around 8am, I think. And I was awakened before 6am by one of my brothers clicking all the circuit breakers on and off, one by one, which happen to be in my bedroom, not realizing all the power was off.
So now I'm wondering what is going to happen with the roof, as it's only 5 years old, but just a few months past the 5 year warranty of the roofing company. They attempted to patch the previous leak free of charge, despite passing the expired warranty, and telling me it wasn't even a workmanship issue, but because large oak tree branches were too close to the roof, keeping it shaded and wet so much of the time, that water got up under the shingles and rusted the nails, which a worker showed me. So now I fear this is going to end up costing me thousands to fix properly, seeing as it's now become a much larger issue. 🙁
