It'll be a bit long. Hope you can bear with me.
Just a bit of a background, I'm in my mid-30s. My tale spans from the late 90s to the present.
Early Years
I live in the Philippines, from elementary to high school, boys are required a standard haircut. It should be tapered 2 inches high on the sides and 3 inches on the back. It's similar to a taper. We call this style, 2 by 3 or barber's cut. It could also be shorter than a 2 by 3, though a shaved head is not allowed.
My dad made sure that we were following the rules and standards. From first grade to fifth grade, he would always tell the barber to give me a flat top. It's usually buzzed with a number 2 on the back and sides and the top is around 1-2 inches. I still remember my dad, standing beside the barber to make sure that the flat top is short.
I will never forget the anticipation of the clippers cutting the top flat. I also usually have the sideburns shaved straight, which was embarrassing since most of my classmates have long sideburns.
I think this is when my interest and fetish started.
During summer, I get to grow my hair. However, since the fetish is now taking over me, I really wanted to cut my hair.
There was one summer I decided to "trim" my bangs. It ended up uneven. My dad was livid when he saw me with the uneven bangs. I was brought straight to the barber shop and my hair was buzzed to a number 1. I had a blank reaction on my face. I didn't know if I should feel scared or satisfied.
Teen Years
When I entered my sixth year and high school (we didn't have middle grade back then), I was allowed to grow my hair a bit. I still followed the required 2 by 3 haircut, though longer on top. I was also able to suppress my fetish.
I also became more self-conscious of my hair. I was always worried about how my classmates would react if I got a short haircut.
Fast forward to my senior year, most of the boys in my class decided to get number 1 or 2 buzz cuts. I contemplated on doing the same.
Opportunity struck. I was staying at my uncle's house doing some homework. While typing on the computer, from my peripheral view, I saw a pair of clippers on my uncle's bedside table.
The urge came back. I decided to try the clippers. I only used it a bit on the right side, so I can still get the usual 2 by 3 haircut. I turned the clippers on with a number 2 guard, and higher and higher it went.
I know that my parents would notice the unevenness of the right side from the left side. I headed straight to my local barber.
At the shop, I told my barber that I experimented a bit and to give me the usual. He checked my hair, and to my shock, he told me that a 2 by 3 is not possible. The right side was clipped so high, that I had to get a shorter cut.
I didn't know how to respond. I was feeling anxious and excited at the same time.
I asked my barber about my options. He said he could repair the damage, but it would either be a crew cut or a flat top.
I didn't want to get a flat top. Back then (and until now), flat tops are usually the haircut of older men.
I asked my barber once again. If I get the crew cut, how short will it be. He said, he could try a number 3. I had no choice, I agreed.
The barber started buzzing the right side and explained (and showed) to me, why a 2 by 3 is no longer possible. He continued buzzing to the back and then the left side, leaving the top. He brushed the hair on top, he started buzzing it leaving some hair at the front.
The feeling was euphoric, I missed the feel of the clippers on my head. But it was short-lived, I started worrying about what my classmates would say.
The barber then used the scissors and comb to shorten my bangs. He gave me a bumper. I looked like an elementary student once again.
Before finishing my haircut, my barber asked me if the haircut was okay. At that point, I just decided to go for it. I told him to give me a number 1 buzz cut.
That haircut will always be the most memorable for me.
University Years and my 20s
Once I attended my university, I decided to grow my hair. Our university didn't have rules with haircuts, so I was able to grow my hair really long. I was no longer interested in getting my haircut. I was already satisfied with the content I saw on YouTube.
I think, I only cut my hair for graduation, though it was only a trim.
When I finished my studies, I started working in customer service. In BPO companies, there are no haircut rules. I was able to grow my hair long again. It even grew past my shoulders.
I had to cut it a bit shorter when I got promoted to team leader. Clippers didn't touch my hair for 16 years.
Working Home-Based
When COVID-19 hit, I decided to just work from home. From 2020 to 2022, I was again able to grow my hair, with the occasional trims. It was long but never past my shoulder.
The biggest change came in 2023.
My family went on a 2-week vacation, I decided not to go and just stayed at home. That was when the urge came back. I decided it's time for me to go back to a 2 by 3. Since I'm just working-from-home, no one will see the drastic changes.
Off I go to the barbershop. I told the barber (a new one) to give me a 2 by 3, but leave it a bit longer.
The unexpected happened. Without any warning, the barber decided to shorten the top with a number 16 clipper guard. I was taken aback by his process. I sat there, thinking (and worrying) how short the haircut would be.
When he was done, the top was still longish and I still had a bit of bangs. The experience brought back so many memories, and urges. I got back home and was still thinking about the experience and how fun it was.
The next day, the urge continued. I decided to go to a different barbershop and go shorter. I told the barber to give me a number 4 crew cut with a bumper.
After 2 days, I went to another barbershop, and told the barber to remove the bumper. He started with a number 4 to even everything, but I told him to make it a number 2. I saw how round my head for the first time in 17 years.
It didn't stop there, the next day, I went to another barbershop. I hopped on the chair and told the barber to give me a number 1 buzz cut.
I added another memorable haircut experience.
Present Time
I kept the buzz cut for the entirety of 2023. When 2024 came, I decided to grow my hair once again. My last haircut was last January 2024.
-- END --
Sorry if my story went too long. If you finished it, I hope you enjoyed it.
To GenXHaircutFan, if I'm not asking for too much, maybe you could share any flat top video that is not yet on YouTube. I would also love the one with Mikey getting a forced haircut or any "forced" one. Thank you for all you do!

BuzzLife administration and Boardhost accept no liability whatsoever by posts, ideas, opinions, links to external sources, videos, to name a few among the vast amount of content that could be contained in said posts. Therefore, you post it, whatever it may be, you’re responsible for it. Enough said.

This is designed for male haircutting, and males should be the subject of the haircut. Females should not be the subject of the haircut in posts, photos, and discussions, however, females are free to join and discuss our common interests.
No sexual posts allowed. No political posts allowed.
In terms of common sense, do not post replies to such videos or photos saying things like “sexy handsome man without hair” or “better ####ing shave it next time” or any other suggestive or inappropriate comments. This only does many things. It makes the user remove the video due to being “creeped out” by said comments, look to see where the user found their video (and can see terms searched, such as headshaving, male haircut, and even links from this board). It only brings out a negative view of our community and makes us more noticeable, rather than keeping it quiet. Keeping it quiet is best, it allows us to continue sharing content without people starting to think “will I get creepy people send me stuff”. To sum it up, don’t be a creep on other people’s videos. Saying you look good such as “nice haircut” is acceptable; saying “you look sexy handsome with that new haircut :-*” is unacceptable. I cannot control what you post on other websites, but please keep your true comments to yourself, or as we often see, “This video has been removed by the user” will pop up. Please use proper judgment to keep the videos posted public for all to see and enjoy.
In addition, please try to do your best to provide reference to what content is being presented. The internet is wide, I understand that. But if you are going to post a YouTube link, write a quick thing next to the link (moptop shorn) or reference where you got an image from (i.e., post a link and the image) so we can see it easier if there is problem. Only goes to help us out more!
Be civil on the board. We’re all grown mature (hopefully) men. Let’s keep it mature and civil on here.
Be smart about what you post! If you use proper judgment, it will generally be fine. Just consider these rules before posting.
