How are you guys dealing with this second lockdown when it comes to your hair? Are you letting it grow, doing self-haircuts (or getting cut by friends), or is your barbershop still open (or your barber doing cuts in secret)?
My answer for ProgienicTen and readers:
Personally, had I known what I know found out during the long-dragged out home quarantine orders (rightfully ordered by our county and state health officials backed-up by our governor and county executive--and to hell with whatever Trump said or didn't have a clue about), I would have gotten a much more severe skin bald high and tight haircut than my last haircut (just a week before it began in March) to make it last longer.
I went from mid-March until the Fourth of July weekend without a haircut, and for anyone who usually gets a high and tight haircut, you know by week five you are ready for the barbers or the insane asylum for being totally tormented and bugged-out by the shaggy hair.
And you might know, just when my roommate and myself thought that we could get squeezed into our shop, which had limited hours and number of customers allowed in there at any time, the sign on the door said "Closed until further notice" and they never answered the barbershop phone. We needed haircuts in the middle of the hot summer.
My roommate (who normally goes to a different barber than myself) gets a modern greaser pompadour rockabilly cut with nice tight sides, like this:

Mick doesn't let just any Joe (or Mary) cut his hair, and the same for myself with my high and tight. So we had to wait and wait to check around much like what you just recently went through, ProgienicTen. So, how did YOU handle the long wait between haircuts? How tempted or miserable did you gradually become? And why finally did it come to August 25 for you to take action? And what was your first reaction when at home after your haircut?
We eventually got a call around July 10th from a bud about 70 miles away to ask we would want to come up there as he got someone to cut his hair and this person was willing to do two more haircuts IF we cared to drive that far. Damn right we will, and we hit the road in a hurry the next day. That weekend could not come soon enough.
We get to this house (twenty blocks from his apartment in town) where he introduced us to his girlfriend's good friend who works in a now-closed unisex hair salon.
This barber (a woman stylist who had on the best perfume) cut our hair outside on the porch in her backyard of her house as highway traffic zoomed by in the near distance. We must have given those people (from semi-drivers to old ladies in cars) something to look at with our barechested torsos and long clipped off hair flying to the ground! She even took before and after haircut pictures too.
It always feels great to take off shaggy hair of any length of hair after waiting a while to get a haircut, but to have our longer over-grown hair skinned off outside under glowing sunshine with slight winds hitting our scalps was simply amazing and it felt fantastic. He got his pomp cut perfectly while I was shaved bald (just kidding, I got a kick-ass high and tight that was more tight than high, but it felt great!!).
We looked at ourselves and both said "FINALLY!!". She laughed and said "Glad to help you guys."
Her husband offered us beers and we decided to chat for an hour out on the back porch as I kept running my hand up the back of my mere-stubbled freshly high and tight head. And I had a discovery in the process: I found out I had ears hiding under all of that shaggy dark brown hair that probably got tired of Johnson's Baby Shampoo on it the previous four months, as it was for me having to wash and shampoo that hair (I had not had it that long since 2004 when I worked in a professional credit union setting. Once I left that stuffy-shirt-and-tie employment I got a high and tight when working a then-$15.00 an hour factory mid-management job.
I was buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzed (and I don't mean by the Miller Beers, either!!) and I was so aroused and relieved to finally get a haircut. The haircut was perfect and I felt so much cooler. Mom was always right, a nice short summer haircut will keep me cooler. Both of us were glad to spend about four hours that Saturday going up to see this couple and reacquainted with my friend and his girlfriend who kept saying "Mick, you look back to normal now". Then he teased "Oh, so Kendall doesn't look "back to normal", and I laughed and joked "I'm never normal when around you!!"
So, we went back to her at least two more times for haircuts especially since she nailed both of our haircuts perfectly that sunny afternoon last month--only the next subsequent visits she made sure that my high and tight was both tight and extra high and nicely razor shaved around the ears--again shirtless outside on a stool. Who needs a barber cape tightly wrapped around our necks when we can get an unprecedented barechested haircut by a super cool chick with Oster Classic 76 clippers and other hair grooming tools??
We (and she) wonders how her loyal clientele are dealing with the ups-and-downs of quarantine and on-and-off COVID-19 business phase openings that has fluctuated so much in this area that one never knows what is open or closed from day to day. She says she and her two salon partners hope to hang on until at least Christmas with hopes everyone will wear a mask and follow health pandemic guidelines, including wearing a mask outside, if anything to set a good public example.
Both of us were enamored by her and appreciated the concern that she had for her business and well-being of her salon patrons and that she even wore a mask when she gave us our "back porch" haircuts outside. She joked, "Well, if the county wants to come after me, we got the home security camera to show that I gave you guys haircuts while wearing a mask. Then she looks and points at her husband and says "And he sat six feet away from you guys, how is that for social distancing?" Fun gal.
But we are not sure with my work getting back to normal hours starting in mid-September and Mick going back to college next week, if we can continue to go all the way up to see her more times. For that, she gave me the most severe high and tight with extra high razor shaving around the ears and back of my head to make this last cut last longer. We are ready for Quarantine THREE, the Sequel!!
If we can go back up in a few weeks for another haircut, if both of our local barbershops are still not open, it will be Haircut Time...and...Miller Time again for sure!!! Keep it tight boys!!! Hope that answers your questions, ProgienicTen.

By using this, you accept all liability for your posts and their contents. BuzzLife administration and Boardhost accept no liability whatsoever by posts, ideas, opinions, links to external sources, videos, to name a few among the vast amount of content that could be contained in said posts. Therefore, you post it, whatever it may be, you’re responsible for it. Enough said.
Photos, videos, and other content posted should involve men who appear to be of age. Any link/poster that sends images, videos, etc. of those who appear to be below acceptable age will be removed. This results in an instant ban for life
This is designed for male haircutting, and males should be the subject of the haircut. Females should not be the subject of the haircut in posts, photos, and discussions, however, females are free to join and discuss our common interests.
No sexual posts allowed. No political posts allowed.
In terms of common sense, do not post replies to such videos or photos saying things like “sexy handsome man without hair” or “better ####ing shave it next time” or any other suggestive or inappropriate comments. This only does many things. It makes the user remove the video due to being “creeped out” by said comments, look to see where the user found their video (and can see terms searched, such as headshaving, male haircut, and even links from this board). It only brings out a negative view of our community and makes us more noticeable, rather than keeping it quiet. Keeping it quiet is best, it allows us to continue sharing content without people starting to think “will I get creepy people send me stuff”. To sum it up, don’t be a creep on other people’s videos. Saying you look good such as “nice haircut” is acceptable; saying “you look sexy handsome with that new haircut :-*” is unacceptable. I cannot control what you post on other websites, but please keep your true comments to yourself, or as we often see, “This video has been removed by the user” will pop up. Please use proper judgment to keep the videos posted public for all to see and enjoy.
In addition, please try to do your best to provide reference to what content is being presented. The internet is wide, I understand that. But if you are going to post a YouTube link, write a quick thing next to the link (moptop shorn) or reference where you got an image from (i.e., post a link and the image) so we can see it easier if there is problem. Only goes to help us out more!
Be civil on the board. We’re all grown mature (hopefully) men. Let’s keep it mature and civil on here.
Be smart about what you post! If you use proper judgment, it will generally be fine. Just consider these rules before posting.
