Does anybody know this writer ?
Saw this book on sale recently in Italy. Unfortunately the bookshop was already closed.
There is still to be written a good biography on this complex woman/queen.
The Sabrina Pollock's book (not yet translated in portuguese) was generally acclaimed by international critics, but most portuguese historians say it adds nothing or very little to what has been already published about this fascinating queen.
I stand by "Rainhas que o Povo Amou" (Queens loved by the people) by Maria Antónia Lopes in the collection about all the Queen-consortes (and the 2 king-consoertes) of Portugal.
This last but one volume is about Q. Stéphanie of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Q.Maria Pia of Savoy.
A must, and included in the National Plan of Reading for students of secondary classes.
