I finished the book and I am rather disappointed. It is not well written and more about the author coping with his trauma of the libel casa and the fall out with certain persons
The issue of legality of the German title was mentioned but in weird ways. This is quite straight forward.
I found the book badly and confusing written, petty details and odd. None comes out decently.
All in all a book I can not recommended and one would not have missed much if one does not read this book.

: I am reading at present
: I share some of your comments about the
: style and
: difficult and partly boring read. It seems
: partly a way how the authors tries to deal
: with the trauma of the libel trial.
: Indeed weird about the afress former King
: Michael with HRH and that by the Prince of
: Hohenzollern. Hardly convincing.
: I find it as well annoying that it does not
: seem - as far as I got with the reading
: -that none has explored the legal situation
: in Germany. There are no titles but merely
: family names which have as a part the former
: titles. How this is treated in social
: circles is a completely diffrent thing, but
: in legal terms the (pre 1918) titles are
: merely names. New titles are therefore not
: created and the use of names is surely not a
: matter of privat parties to convey. If
: someone wants a new name, he/she needs to
: change legally change his/her name. There
: are very few options for that and it is a
: matter for the state to do this. The
: "Prince" of Hohenzollern certainly
: has no right or powers to do this and allow
: someone to carry a name he grants. What
: might have been accept in nobility circles
: is a private matter, but as soon as this
: person enters "the real world" he
: can not use this (unless it is an artist
: name) and will get into legal troubles. I do
: believe that even in Romania that
: "title" was not recognized in
: legal terms.
:
: I write again after I finished the book.

: This is an unusual and, in my opinion,
: difficult book to read and follow. It is
: well illustrated and seeks to detail a
: rivalry between the Hohenzollerns and the
: Romanan royal families in which the author
: became a pawn in their "battle".
: Mr Houston wrote an article in Royalty
: magazine about Prince Radu which was said to
: be libellous and based on false documents.
: This battle appears to have been
: orchestrated by others to discredit Prince
: Radu, and ultimately, Mr Houston. The whole
: thing is, in my opinion, bizarre.
:
: There are lots of supporting documents and I
: thought it odd that the Prince of
: Hohenzollern writes to his cousin and refers
: to him as either HRH Michael, Prince of
: Romania or HRH Michael, King of Romania or
: HM Michael, King of Romania - I would have
: thought one Royal would know how to address
: another correctly.
:
: Sadly, this book only adds to my opinion
: that the Romanian Royal Family has fallen
: into a comic opera period in its evolution.
: But then the Prince of Hohenzollern also
: does not come out of the story very well.
