"A Marquesa de Paiva"

A new book that was recently published: "A Marquesa de Paiva" by João Pedro George Ed., Livros d'Hoje.

It tells the story of the rise of Esther Pauline Lachman, later Thérèse, later Blanche, from her birth in the jewish ghetto of Moscow to the vibrant life of Paris under the second Empire - Napoleon III, ending in Silesia married to one of the richest man in Germany.

Meantime, she married a Portuguese who gave her the name she passed to history "La Païva".
