I'm reading an advance copy of this dual biography of Catherine de Medici and her daughter Margot (or, vice versa . . .). I know very little about French history during this period which was quite, um, eventful. The author has written three previous books: Four Queens, The Lady Queen, and The Maid and the Queen about earlier French women. This new title is being published in June.
Leonie Frieda has written a biography of Catherine but I have not yet read it.
