Amazing how author Olivier Defrance wrote his book! He consulted so many archives.
Princess Dora von Sachsen-Coburg u. Gotha was the daughter of Prince Philippe of Sachsen-Coburg u. Gotha and of Princess Louise of Belgium (eldest daughter of King Leopold II).
She married Duke Ernst-Günther zu Schleswig-Holstein, who was a brother of e.g. Empress Augusta Victoria of Germany, wife of Emperor Wilhelm II.
All the previous books of Olivier Defrance were so very, very interesting that I looked very much forwarded to his latest book and again with such a big success.
The person of Duchess Dora was completely forgotten and totally unknown.
Like the author reflects in the beginning of his book as just a thought with an 'if' question. 'If' Belgium never had the salic law, abolished in 1991, Dora could have been 'queen of Belgium' from 1924 until 1967, for 43 years.
The author digged so deeply into history in his book and added it historical pictures, mostly never been published before.
