High School Class Reunion

This past weekend the Medford High School Class of 1965 celebrated our 50th reunion. We had three days of activities and socializing, culminating in a big bash at our house on Sunday. We had over 160 people here listening to music provided by yours truly along with Dan Day on guitar and Phil Waugh on bass. We also had other classmates chime in - John Fisher and Steve Nelson played a set (they had a band in high school called The Dynamics); The Fabulous Mullen Boys (Jack & Jay) sang a couple tunes; and our choir director, Lynn Sjolund (the teacher who really inspired my career) led the whole gang in our Alma Mater and Fight Song. I didn't think a 50th reunion could be so much fun, but - WOW! Are we a partyin' bunch at our age! It was fun trying to recognize people - some have changed a lot, some not so much. Our class celebrity, Dick Fosbury (Olympic gold medalist in the high jump - he invented the Fosbury Flop) still looks like he did in 1965, altho I swear he's grown 6 inches since then. I wore a little badge all weekend that says "It's OK - I don't remember your name either." But we all bonded immediately - no clics - no attitudes. Just good memories and a fabulous time!
