How 'bout a Kingston Trio brand pull-over sweater? How many people are even aware that the KT endorsed a line of clothing branded under The Kingston Trio name? Make me some offers, folks. Let me see if I can post photos of some of this stuff.
OK, now you got me thinking. Let's see - I think I still have a clump of Bob Shane's navel lint. That's gotta be worth something. A few years ago we heard that one of our more disturbed fans was trying to purchase Bob's underware from a long-time groupie.
It's kind of amazing to realize the potential value of some of the souvenires I've collected over the years. One item of particular personal value to me (don't know how much this might be worth on e-bay) is a personally autographed print of a Kingston Trio caricature drawn by Jack Davis. I was a huge Mad Magazine fan in my younger days and to have Jack Davis draw my ears ala "what - me worry?" was a huge honor. The back of my framed copy of his KT caricature has Jack's own caricature of himself with a cartoon balloon that says: "How did he do thet (sic) saw?" I could never sell that, but contact Meri after I croak - I'm sure she'd be happy to pocket some cash for it.
I remember fans used to collect our broken guitar strings off the stage after a show. The were hard to sign, tho.
OK - I'm going on a scavanger hunt in my own garage!
