I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and thank you for visiting my site. I really enjoy keeping in touch with people I've met out on concert tour over the years. And also some who visit this site that I haven't met, but who are interested in the odd tidbits that flow from these fingers.
Our fabulous Thanksgiving day was filled with family joy and music. In addition to Meri's parents, who live just a few blocks away, we also have family visiting from out of town. My dad-in-law, Ed's sister Annabell is here from Eugene (staying with Mom and Dad) and her son, Dallas, is staying with us. (He lives in Tulsa, OK.) And our dear "sister" Jan from Lake Oswego is staying at our house for the weekend as well.
Yesterday Meri and Jan whomped up a delicious and filling brunch only to be followed 6 hours later by a huge feast of turkey with all the trimmin's. After we gorged ourselves for a second time (but before dessert!) we retired to the family room for several hours of music and dancing. Both Annabell and Jan play the piano and sing beautifully. Ed chimed in with his rich baritone voice and Dallas and I sang harmony and played guitars and banjo. Wow! What a blast - and what a treat to have such a wonderful musical family. Yesterday was the true definition of Thanksgiving! And I'll be giving thanks all year for the memory of that special day.
Now - let's dig into those left-overs!
