Because of this issue I've started learning a song that I heard Tom Rush do a few years ago about memory lapse. "LOOKIN' FOR MY WALLET AND MY CAR KEYS. WELL, THEY CAN'T HAVE GONE TOO FAR. JUST AS SOON AS I FIND MY GLASSES I'M SURE I'LL SEE JUST WHERE THEY ARE. I'M SUPPOSED TO MEET SOMEONE FOR LUNCH TODAY, BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE, OR WHO IT IS THAT I AM MEETING - IT'S IN MY ORGANIZER...SOMEWHERE..." Oh, but lawdy mama - this one's gonna be a challenge to memorize too!!!
With regard to the song that started this thread, however, I think I'm making progress. I now only need to cue on the first line of each verse to make it thru the verse. I think I'll get this song in my head finally, but it's been a challenge. As my 84-year-old Auntie Annabel sez: "Old age ain't for wimps!"
