Stateside, we did occasional TV appearances, the bulk of which were on local Seattle TV. But I do recall a show we taped in LA, which I think has been referenced here recently. This Kingston Trio hosted, Mary Travers was on it as was a comedy troup called Firesign Theater.
I remember this show primarily because we stayed at the Beverly Garden Hotel in North Hollywood. The Bros. had returned to the hotel after the taping and as we were standing in the lobby, Bob Shane drove his rental car right thru the front door. I suppose that's not something he cares to relive, so don't tell him I told you about it, OK?
With the Trio we did lots of TV. One show that still airs occasionally on PBS is "This Land Is Your Land." Another one that I remember was one that Dick Clark hosted - I wish I could remember what that one was called. There were several acts on the show, including, as I recall, The Temptations. I think Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons may have been on that one too. But it was a thrill to meet Dick Clark.
This was before my time, but way back when, the Trio was on "What's My Line". Check it out:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfvmRqqhBeU
