He grates on me. OK - he's a good musician and that would be great if he could keep his ego bottled up. His verbal interjections into the Letterman show make me jump for the remote. Actually, I never watch that show. We loved Jay Leno until NBC, in their infinite stupidity, replaced him with the juvenile Jimmy Fallon. And that's not a totally fair assessment of Jimmy, because I've seen him do some amazing musical parodies and impressions. But the stuff he does on his show is shades of Pee Wee Herman. And that's not fair to Pee Wee either, because I loved Pee Wee's Playhouse. I guess I don't know how to answer the question other than to say that Paul Shafer just ain't my cup o'tea.
