I don't know about you, but I'm pretty fed up with our government about now. And I'm not talkin' party politics, either. I thought Dubbya did a lousy job of running things in general and his only saving grace for me (sorta) was that he did finally commute the sentences of Nachio Ramos and Jose Compean, the two border guards who were railroaded by Bush's pal, State Attorney General, Johnny Sutton down in Texas. Even with that he had to make a snide remark in his commutation statement about their breaking the law.

Now, I didn't support Obama for president either - nor McCain. I've come to see Republicans and Democrats as the same party, basically. Congress is no better. Nancy Pelosi is a disgrace to the human race and I could list a whole slew of Senators and Representatives who don't give a flyin' pig about what their constituents want.

The "silent" majority has had it with Washington and we're taking to the streets next Wednesday, April 15th with a nation-wide event called "The Tea Party." The party here in Denver will be on the west steps of the State Capitol around noon. I'm working on a song to perform, and hey - Ron Fitz - or anyone else - if you want to contribute your writing talents - I need a third verse. Also, I'm not sold on the end of the chorus - maybe somebody will suggest something better. Put your thinking caps on gang - let's write a hit here. We need to force the politicians to listen to what we want - not what they want to force upon us.
