Finding myself home alone this weekend(except for Buffy the boxer), I decided to drag out some video tapes I hadn't seen in a while(no, not that kind-strictly music related-get your mind out of the gutter). I came across an old tape called simply "Folk Music Reunion" featuring The Kingston Trio, The Brothers Four, The Limeliters, Mary Travers, Judy Collins, John Sebastian, Tom Paxton, and Glen Yarborough. The music suffers a little from over production(Sebastian playing an acoustic-electric hybrid through a Roland Jazz Chorus-served with extra chorus on the side- comes to mind) but there are some notable performances- I really like the foursome of Travers, Gambill, Hassilev, and Paxton doing "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine", and it's cool to see Red Grammer as a fresh and enthusiastic new entry into the Limeliters.
As I was watching the Brothers Four set, I couldn't help but marvel at Bobby's ability to play the harmonica with a beard. I've tried it, and I can tell you it's not pleasant to lose a mustache hair to a Hohner.
Anyhow, the point of this post is this-who the hell are the three guys at the end who come out in matching blue suits? They are never shown during the video, and their names appear to be edited out of the final roll call. Anyone? This has bothered me for years!
