Sorry for the delay in this. I am usually a much more timely FF writer. Life has just been crazy!!! I will try to do better in the future but no real promises. LOL
What Happens Next - Part 5
Last Time:
The end of 'Casablanca' filled the TV screen. Luckily both Bo and Nora had seen it enough times since they were both asleep. Wrapped in each others arms, under a nice warm blanket. Bo was the first to stir. He looked over at Nora and smiled. This was where he was always meant to be. He kissed the top of her head and she woke up.
Nora yawned. "I must have fallen asleep."
"Me too. It's been a busy day."
"Maybe we should go to bed."
"I don't know about you but I don't want to be alone tonight." Bo kissed her deeply.
Nora returned the kiss. "Neither do I." ~~~~~~~~~~~ Bo was the first to stir. His arms were wrapped around Nora as she slept. He just smiled. This was right. This was where they were meant to be. He slowly caressed Nora's bare thigh, moving his hand around to her stomach. He felt the baby kick a couple of times. Nora slowly awoke and rested her hand on his. They stayed quiet for a few seconds before she turned towards him and kissed him deeply. She looked into his smiling face. "Morning."
Bo returned the kiss. "Good morning beautiful. You feeling okay?"
Nora stretched. "Better than I've felt in weeks." She wrapped her arms around him and held him tight. "Maybe we can stay in bed all week."
"I would love that but…"
"But?"
"We need to go home. I'm not sure what Tony would say if he or some member of his family arrived and we hadn't left the bed all week."
Nora chuckled. "Well maybe we can go home and then stay in bed all day."
"I love that idea." Bo kissed her passionately. Just as things were getting a little more heated the phone rang. Both of them groaned.
"Ignore it."
"I wish I could but I'm pretty sure it's John with a report on your stalker."
Nora kissed Bo quickly. "Okay…answer it."
Bo picked up his phone. "Buchanan."
"Where are you? Do you know where Nora is?"
"Whoa, whoa ….Hank slow down. What's going on?" Bo could hear him take a breath.
"Do you know where Nora is? I've been looking all over for her."
Bo smiled as he held Nora close. "She's here with me."
"As in with you."
Bo could sense his friend's smile on the other end of the line. "Yes…as in with me. I took her out of town to keep her safe. We talked, we laughed, we talked some more. And here we are…together."
"Buddy…I am so happy for you guys. And I'm glad she's with you and safe."
Bo got concerned. "What's going on?"
Hank sighed. "I stopped over at the barn today to check on Nora. I wanted to make sure she and the baby were okay after the mugging. The door was open and the place was a mess."
Bo sat up in bed startling Nora. "I know I locked the door when we left. What do you mean the place was a mess."
"Papers were on the floor, some of the drawers in the kitchen were open. Same with the bedroom. It looked like someone went into the nursery and pulled open drawers and moved stuff around."
"Like they were looking for something?"
"Sort of. It seemed very methodical and not random."
Bo nodded. "Okay. We'll head home. I'll meet you in my office in a couple of hours."
"I'm sorry that I wrecked the weekend for you."
Bo smiled as he looked at Nora. "You couldn't wreck it. See ya in a few." Bo hung up the phone.
"What's going on? What did Hank say?"
"It seems someone broke into the barn. We need to head back so I can investigate."
"What were they looking for?"
Bo kissed her softly. "I think they were looking for you."
"Me?"
Bo nodded. "And that's why I want you staying with Pa and Renee. I want you safe."
Nora shook her head. "If you're with me, I'll be safe."
Bo smiled. "Always. But I will be working 24/7 to catch this guy. I don't want to have to worry about you. Humor me?"
Nora nodded. "As long as you promise to come by Asa's whenever you have a chance."
"Nothing could keep me away."

Nora and Bo walked arm in arm to the front door of Asa's mansion. Bo gave Nora a quick kiss. "Are you ready for this?"
Nora smiled. "I love your father. And I love Renee. I know they love me. I'm sure I can survive a couple of days here."
"They don't know yet that we're back together. Do you know how happy they will be?" Bo rang the doorbell.
Nigel opened the door and welcomed them in. "Mr. Buchanan. Mrs. Buchanan. How wonderful to see you. Let me take your coats."
Nora took off her coat. "Thank you Nigel. It's wonderful to see you too."
"Nigel, I'll keep my coat. I need to leave in a few minutes. Is Pa in his study?"
"He is sir. He is expecting you."
Bo took Nora's hand in his and opened the door to the study door. Asa was sitting behind the desk. Without even looking up he bellowed "So what's this huge favor you need boy?" As he raised his head from his work he saw Nora and Bo standing there. A huge smile came to his face. "Is this what I think it is?"
Both Bo and Nora nodded. Asa got up and pulled them both into an embrace. "You have made this old man happier than he has been in a long while."
"We're pretty happy too Pa. But there is a favor."
"Anything."
"I need Nora to stay here for a while. It seems like her stalker broke into the house yesterday. I just don't want her to be alone when I can't be with her."
"You need to find the SOB that's doing this. If I find him first…."
"Pa…I don't need you to do anything more than keep Nora and the baby safe."
"I will protect them with my life."

This was where they were meant to be. YES! Thank you, Mary Ann! Only...why did you make the phone ring? LOL Just like OLTL...there was always a phone call or a visitor knocking at the most inopportune moments! That's ok...I have a strong feeling we are going to get our happily ever after!
