Firstly have to say what a superb stadium, complete bowl shape and executive boxes all the way around on both tiers.
The biggest pity is that it is the home of a team that cannot even half fill it. They have the top tier completely closed off apart from the away end and huge sections of the ground near to the away end empty.
The attendance today was 14000 and probably close on 5000 clues fans there by the look of it, maybe a little less. At best though 10000 MK Dons fans. When you consider this is a team on the up and at its highest ever position its a bit of a joke really.
Blues were absolutely superb, second half especially. I have to say for a promoted team who have had a decent start I thought they were poor. Pedestrian at times when attacking and truly awful at the back. I fully expect to see them drop back to Division One come May once the promotion confidence has subsided.
Blues on the other hand put in a perfect away day performance. Stayed solid first half and let them play in front of us. One glorious chance apart MK had little to offer and Kushak didn't have a save of any note to make.
Second have was a different story. We imposed ourselves on the game and scored two excellent goals, both from fantastic passing moves. Gleeson providing a beautiful chip for the first and Maghoma with a sublime finish for the second after Blues rapidly turned defence into attack.
We had a few other chances to stretch the lead but Davis was wasteful after another superb passing move.
Slice of luck getting away from the ground as well, parked up in the park and ride area and took a flier on going through the industrial estate instead of back up to the ground, ended up three islands away from the ground and back on the M1 within 15 minutes of the final whistle!
To top it all had a tenner on a Blues away win which returned £32 and an accy come in for £66. Absolutely cracking day and now the mrs and I are on a nice bottle of Chardonay LOL!
If Carlsberg made away days...
