Once you have offended the dog, you now have something to build on.
Yes, FRUSTRATION plays a huge part of it. Pissed off ... no relief (repeat) Giving him no venue to vent his anger.
It is a lost skill, called agitation.
Agitate = to piss off.
Decoy = lure or entice (a person or animal) away from an intended course, typically into a trap.
They never see a muzzle, until they are already mad enough to kill the bad guy. By now, they default emotion that is driving the dog to deal with problem humans, is rage
The amount of time this takes, varies from dog to dog. This time can also be shortened by the skill level of the Agitator.
The reason for holding back the muzzle training, is because in a dog's mind, he actually bit you. The muzzle may physically block him, but not for a lack of effort on his part. The dog gets relief in the muzzle.
Removing the first tool God gave him, to show his displeasure with the bad guy.(his mouth)
The only option he has left, is to use his entire body to dish out his retribution, on the plague of his existence. This continues until using his entire body to fight a man, is his default habit.
The teeth only put holes in the body.
Using the whole body to fight with, gives the dog 100 ways to get a man on his back.
Once the bad guy is on his back, it is very easy for the dog to remove the threat with jaw pressure.
Is this kind of dog for everyone? HELL NO!!
This dog is a lethal weapon. (yet accepted into places that will not let you carry)
If you are an Idiot and not responsible, then you do need a sport dog. The worst thing he will do, is put holes in somebody's left arm. As long as you keep his rabies vaccine up to date, he is not a threat to anyone.
Those that claim that a dog bite will stop anyone, has never been bit. Agitating dogs with no protection, accidents can and do happen, HOWEVER, it makes the man, the sole focus of the dog. I could not count the number of times I have been bit. That is why I double backtie the dog. The first rule of agitation is, the closer the Agitator can get to the business end of the dog, the more angry the dog gets. If you go back in old photos I have posted here, you will see a mans face, not an inch from a mightily pissed off dog. I agitate on all fours for so many reasons I cannot explain. The one I will explain here is that it teaches the dog to target the man's face from day one.
CONTROL over this beast is imperative. That is why the majority of my sermons, are on CONTROL.
I hope this gets all of us in the same page, with definitions.
