Re: How do you GET the skills to build trust?

You need skills to build trust? You like a dog or you don't, a dog likes you, or he doesn't. Simple as that. If a dog trusts you and you trust him, you can build a special kind of bond. So you can "read" the dog and the dog knows your moods, and you know his. A dog that isn't "connected" with you, is very hard to train, even simple obedience class.
A dog that you can "read", will do the extra things for you without hesitation and is easier to train.
