fight is what I want, fight is rooted in prey, this is pretty much agreed upon by most poeople I think...obviously the dog has to have a complete package, and not just prey, that is a given. Courage, intent, aggression, strong defense reaction/expression, etc.etc. are also required to develop proper fight.
It is interesting the defense, fight topics...I always thought in terms of defense in prey for a long time, now when I look back on much of the training I did, the dogs that always viewed it as defense, were always the weaker dogs, and with the stronger dogs, it was developing the fight, but that is just how I look at it.
some of the guys that are producing some of the best dogs on the planet never even use the term defense, they dont want outward defensive reactions at all, they want prey/fight. Animals that hunt or fight, very often do get lots of pressure from their prey, and do not cur out if they have heart. And honestly, I dont know any animals that hunt or fight in solely defense drive.
