Norris Homer Pyle III
AVON - Norris Horner Pyle, III, 64 of Avon, passed away,
peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, March 30,
2011 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
Mr. Pyle was born March 18, 1947 in Upland, Pa. and has
lived in Avon the past 32 years.
Mr. Pyle was a programmer/analyst serving in the U.S. Air
Force for 12 ½ years. He then worked for CenturyTel,
Lorain, Bendix Corporation, Elyria and Keiser Permanente
Data Center, Brooklyn.
He was first and foremost a devoted family man; he was
also an active member of his community as a member and
past president of the Avon Lions Club and a volunteer at
the Avon Senior Center. He had as his hobbies computers
and cooking. His family said that he loved to cook and
his specialties were Schnitzel and Pork Chop Pijle. He
even created cookbooks of his favorite recipes.
Mr. Pyle is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy (nee
Coghlan); children Mary Mateer of Elyria, Bob Pyle of Avon
and Norris H. Pyle, IV (Jenny) of Cuyahoga Falls. He is
also survived by 7 grandchildren Cara, Jimmy, Chase and
Joey Mateer; Reagan and Jacob Lovelace and Camden Pyle
and sister Carol Gilmore and brother Paul Gavetti both
of Palm Springs, Calif. He is preceded in death by his
parents Norris H., II and Geraldine C. (nee Mehlbaum) Pyle.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, Wednesday,
April 6 from 4:00-7:00pm. The Memorial Mass will be
Thursday, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church,
2640 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon at 11:00am. Fr. Thomas Cleaton
of the church will officiate. Internment will be at the
Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH,
Friday at 12:30 pm with full military honors.

Ohio Veterans Home and Stein Hospice for their loving care
