Week 8 is upon us! 2 spots in the Final 4 have been set with Bastrop and Leander taking those spots. 4 teams are still fighting it out for the last 2 spots. East Austin and Kyle cannot afford to lose and need to upset Bastrop and Leander. North Austin and Hutto are still in the conversation but will need to win out and get help. I haven’t seen any official rankings yet or where to find them. All the talking is coming to an end, so here are my picks this week:

#1 Bastrop over #3 East Austin –– OFFICIAL SENIOR GAME OF THE WEEK – Bastrop has been playing lights out football only giving up 7 points all season. East Austin needs to win this game to get into the playoffs. Defense wins championships and I’ll take Bastrop by 18 points.

#4 Kyle over #2 Leander – Kyle needs this win to get into the playoffs and has played the harder schedule. If there is going to be an upset this weekend, it will this game. What surprising is my formula says Kyle wins by 12. Sure, why not.

#5 Hutto over #10 Elgin – Hutto shouldn’t have any issue getting the win here by at least 24.

#6 North Austin Blue over #8 Unity – I feel this will be a great game to check out. North Austin Blue needs a miracle and then some to get into playoffs, but Unity can slam the door for them this week. I have North Austin Blue winning by 20.

#7 Georgetown over #12 Del Valle – Del Valle has been shut out 6 out of 7 games and even though Georgetown isn’t lighting up the score board but does enough to get wins. I’ll take Georgetown by 24 points.

#9 North Austin Green over #11 Round Rock Yellow – Round Rock Yellow has struggled all season and North Austin Green can score lots of points. I’ll take North Austin Green by Mercy Rule

#13 Jarrell over BYE – After taking another whooping, Jarrell gets to stay home and lick their wounds.
