Week 8 in the Rookie Division shows 3 teams have secured a Final 4 spot. Round Rock, Bastrop and Hutto are locked in in the Final 4. Del Valle and Georgetown are fighting it out for the final spot, but Georgetown has the tie breaker. Here are my picks this week:

#4 Del Valle over #6 Leander –– OFFICIAL ROOKIE GAME OF THE WEEK – Leander may be out of the playoffs, but a win here put them in a position for a back door into the Final 4 if they get help with some upsets. I don’t see it playing out that way and I have Del Valle by 24.

#1 Round Rock over #10 Jarrell – Round Rock gets to Mercy Rule Jarrell before playing in the playoffs in 2 weeks.

#2 Bastrop over #7 Elgin – Bastrop has been blessed by playing the bottom 4 teams the last 4 weeks. Elgin has not played well in tough games. I don’t see Bastrop having any problems and getting the win by 30.

#3 Hutto over #11 East Austin – Hutto shouldn’t have any issue this week and should win by Mercy Rule

#5 Georgetown over #8 North Austin – Georgetown needs to win to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. I don’t see Georgetown having any issue and have them winning by Mercy Rule.

#9 Kyle over BYE – Kyle gets to spend their weekend learning how to play defense.
